Here we go again.......

Well I was way excited to do the re-body of the Fiero and place a plentiful Supercharged V-6 in it. I had started to track down the parts they said I needed just so I could start working on saving money for the project. Well, as it always seems to happen with me, something else caught my eye. I know, I know, I seem to cry wolf a lot. But you know what, I want, nay, I need to race cars. I just finished watching round 8 @ Silverstone of the BTCC(British Touring Car Championship). It was last seasons race but man I just couldnt get over how fun the racing looked. So I started to look at The Miller Motorsports Park web site to see what they would have to offer racing wise if I created thei Ponitac Fino beast. After all my digging, all they could offer was open track days. Thats IT? Well that wouldnt work. So I did see what kind of seires they offer. Down at the bottom of the list brought back on of my first racing ideas. Spec Miatas(SM), I mentioned this is my last posting that i toyed with the idea before but just couldnt picture myself driving one. Well I am back at that. These cars are cheap to purchase and the racing series doesnt all you to modify the car in very many ways. So the cars remain low budget and the racing is super competitive. I figured I could afford to do this. It may be till I am out of College before i can start racing but I can build the car now. Watching videos on YouTube and browsing SM fourms. I really think I could do this with the limited resources that I have availible to me.

I sat there for hours the other night, just watching these videos of my favorite driver in the BTCC, Jason Plato, He is amazing. The guy can drive the tires off of anythin, and I decided that I want cars and racing to be one of the only hobbies I have. Nothing else excites me more. I actually had a encounter with that tonight, I went over to my room mates Uncles house to check out a few of his toys. (His uncle was out of town so we were actually checking up on my room mates nieces and nephews). The Guy has two Nissan GTR's! TWO!! They are exactly the same, same options, same color. well I got to sit in my first super car! The thing fit like a glove! I have never felt so comfortable, and so at home with any other machine before. I wish i could have driven it! Maybe someother time. I was so embarrassed though, my room mates cousin was showing us the cars and the second I saw them I turned into a 10 year old boy who just saw his Idol walk by say hi and shake his hand. It was pathetic, but I really didnt care. I need to drive and this feeling doesnt go away. So i am going to do everything in my power to build a SCCA Spec Miata.
