Genesis

I have decided that this adventure that I plan to embark on deserves a blog. I was given my first motorcycle as a gift when I was 14, a Yamaha YZ125, it was a fantastic bike. I learned to ride on that bike. I also fell in love with motorcycles at that point. I later upgraded to a bigger bike. That machine was amazing. I pushed the limits, and boy did I pay for it at times. But it only fuel my passion. I sold that bike, it hurt me to the core to do so but it was getting old and it would have just sat in a garage for two years while I was off serving an LDS mission in England. When I returned my father purchased a Yamaha WR450, to be honest I wasn't pleased with the bike. So we sold it. I ended up with a quad, something I always mocked and said they were for those that couldn't ride motorcycles. But my Raptor 700R is amazing and i love throwing a leg over it for a few hours. But something happened to me acrossed the pond. I fell in love with a whole different aspect of the sport. Sport Bikes. The power, the agility, the raw aggression. I just got excited when a bike would zip down the streets of london or weaving through traffic on the M4. So when I got home I started looking into a sport bike for myself. Well it was a painful process but Icame to the conclusion that my lack of self control would not be a good combination with a 200 MPH bullet. So i gave up on my dream. I toyed with ideas of creating a race car of some kind. Which Inormally would have been so excited to plan and maybe eventually proceed with a project. But the excitement level wasnt there. Then one day i stumbled acrossed Flat Track motorcycles. Its a form of Racing that was very popular in the 70's and still is today. Well I started toying with the idea of whats called a Street Tracker, same look and style of the Flats but with a street application. But Ijust couldnt get excited about the look. So a few months went by, not really thinking about it anymore. Not looking into building my own or buying a already completed project, which to say the least are abundant and easy on the wallet. But a return to Utah for school and being away from my Sweetheart prompted some free time. And I started looking again. This brings me to my current time, and I have made a discovery about myself, I like vintage. I guess I should have already known that with the fact of my first car being a 1967 Mustang, but i wandered from my roots. Like I have said I have returned. I present Cafe Racers! To the right is my favorite that I have found so far. Its by a company called Blue Moon out of Japan. There are a lot of elements that I really love about it. Like the bareness of it. But I am thinking of something a little more modern. Well this is just the beginning. I hope to find a suitable machine to start my project on soon. Dont you fret I will keep this updated with all my thoughts, Ideas and hopefully my own project.
